                   AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND ORDINANCE NO. 6958, AS
                   AMENDED, KNOWN AS THE ZONING ORDINANCE, SO AS
                   TO REZONE TRACTS OF LAND LOCATED IN THE 900 AND
                   1000 BLOCKS OF EAST 14TH STREET AND EAST 13TH
                   STREET, BEING ON THE NORTHEAST LINE OF EAST
                   14TH STREET AT FAGAN STREET, FROM R-3
                   RESIDENTIAL ZONE TO M-2 LIGHT INDUSTRIAL ZONE,
                   SUBJECT TO CERTAIN CONDITIONS.

              	   SECTION 1.  BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
         CITY OF CHATTANOOGA, TENNESSEE, That Ordinance No. 6958, as
         amended, known as the Zoning Ordinance, be and the same is 
hereby
         amended so as to rezone:
               
                Tracts of land located in the 900 and 1000 blocks
                of East 14th Street and East 13th Street, being on
                the northeast line of East 14th Street at Fagan
                Street.  Lots 275-286 and 289-300, Orange Grove
                Subdivision, as shown by plat of record in plat
                book 3, page 39, R.O.H.C., and lot 14 and the east
                7 feet and 8 inches of lot 13, Chattanooga
                Investment Company's Resubdivision of lots 287 and
                288, Orange Grove, as shown by plat of record in
                plat book 6, page 22, R.O.H.C.; being the
                properties described in deed book 2284, page 591,
                R.O.H.C., deed book 3698, page 372, R.O.H.C., deed
                book 2849, page 628, R.O.H.C., deed book 2564, page
                770, R.O.H.C., deed book 2176, page 465, R.O.H.C.,
                deed book 2666, page 961, R.O.H.C., deed book 2252,
                page 271, R.O.H.C., deed book 2352, page 77,
                R.O.H.C., deed book 2146, page 946, R.O.H.C., deed
                book 1444, page 456, R.O.H.C., deed book 1146, page
                42, R.O.H.C., deed book 1849, page 651, R.O.H.C.,
                deed book 1845, page 317, R.O.H.C., and a tract for
                which no deed was available.  Tax Map No. 146I-E-32
                (part), and 146P-A-11, 15, 16, 18 (part), 25, 28,
                29, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37, and 38.
               
         from R-3 Residential Zone to M-2 Light Industrial Zone.
              	   SECTION 2.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this rezoning 

         shall be subject to the following conditions:
        
              1.   Erection and maintenance of a chain link fence along 
the
                   west line of the property.
        
              2.   Erection and maintenance of a landscaped screen in
                   accordance with the screening provisions of the M-2 
zone
                   along 14th Street and along the east line of the
                   property.
        
              3.   All existing easements are retained.
        
              	   SECTION 3.  BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED, That this 
Ordinance
         shall take effect two weeks from and after its passage, the 
public
         welfare requiring it.
